Have You Stopped Making Yourself A Priority?

As a woman, do you struggle with the pressures and double standards society has placed on you?

Are you dissatisfied with your relationships and yearn to forge deeper connections with others?

Are you bogged down with so many obligations that you’ve lost your identity somewhere along the way?

Perhaps for as long as you can remember, you’ve been focused on pleasing others at the expense of pleasing yourself. You may have grown so accustomed to putting others’ needs and desires—partner, family, friends—ahead of your own, that now you doubt yourself, lack confidence, and never feel like you’re good enough. Being assertive might make you uncomfortable and so, time and again, you hand your power over to others rather than speaking up for yourself.

Each Season Of Life Can Come With Unique Challenges

No matter where you are on your life journey, the path for women is often rife with pitfalls. Maybe you’re stuck in an unfulfilling job and feel cut off from your passion and creativity. Or perhaps you’re aware of problematic relationships that hold you back and long for a partner who truly sees and hears you.

If you’re trying to get pregnant, currently pregnant, or recently postpartum, you might be feeling anxious and isolated, uncertain if you’re up for the task of motherhood. Feeling out of balance hormonally and overwhelmed by expectations to be a “perfect” mom, you could be struggling to show up for yourself and your new baby the way you’d hoped. The emotional labor you’re expected to perform for your family may prove exhausting.

Finding a sustainable balance between your roles as parent, partner, and employee can seem impossible sometimes. Fortunately, therapy for women can help you achieve equilibrium, providing the support and inspiration to prioritize yourself, find your voice, and thrive.

In Today’s World, Patriarchal Norms Persist

Despite the many advances achieved in the modern age we live in, women are still viewed as second-class citizens in many parts of the world and within our country. As much as our society tries to claim that men and women now live as equals, many of us have never experienced this for ourselves. Instead, we often find that we must adhere to a different set of rules, including conforming to female standards of beauty and unrealistic expectations, to juggle our career and family obligations without complaint.

The Expectations Of Motherhood Can Become Overwhelming

Beginning with pregnancy, women are expected to meet an unattainably high bar in our roles as mothers. Not only must we follow a prescribed routine to ensure our babies thrive in utero, but once they’re here, we feel pressure to be perfect caregivers who will raise our children flawlessly. Feeling uncertain, we often look to Western medicine, social media, or the “all-knowing” internet for answers rather than trusting our own maternal intuition.

If you feel doubtful, depressed, or anxious, you’re not alone. As a woman, you’re bombarded with messaging that prompts you to compare yourself to others and question if you’re measuring up. In women’s counseling, we can unpack the societal factors that may have impacted your self-esteem and help you regain a sense of empowerment.

Therapy For Women Offers Support In Finding Your Purpose

It isn’t surprising if you’ve reached a point where you feel restless, stuck, and unheard. As women, many of the anxieties and fears that keep us disconnected from our true purpose grew out of beliefs imposed upon us from an early age by our caregivers. As we matured, these beliefs were reinforced by the media and other external forces that equate a woman’s value to her appearance or how well she can take care of others.

The good news is that therapy for women is a safe space to set down your burdens and find validation. Gaining an understanding of what internalized beliefs are no longer congruent with what you actually believe is the first step in finding your voice and taking your power back.

As a women’s therapist, I strive to create a welcoming environment where you can explore current challenges, past hurts, and the dreams you have for the future. By providing you with unwavering support, intuitively-guided counseling, and a non-judgmental forum, I invite you to discover your soul’s true purpose.

What To Expect In Sessions

Initially, we will identify what you’d like to work on in women’s therapy and create long-term goals that ensure more satisfaction and fulfillment in your life. In counseling, you will take inventory of the resources you have access to, such as allies who will support you, activities that nourish the soul, and life habits you can implement to ensure overall well-being and work-life balance.

Current relationships will be examined, helping you recognize patterns that no longer work for you, such as people-pleasing tendencies or a lack of boundaries. As we explore the different dimensions of your personality and soul, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, unlocking the veins of creativity and intuition you may have lost connection with.

Therapy For Women Thrives In A Natural Setting

A woman’s life journey can be likened to the cycles of nature—each season we move through comes with metamorphosis and renewal. We demonstrate our quiet strength and resilience in how we respond to life’s challenges. And like nature, we embody a drive to sustain and nurture life.

Nature-based therapy can be the perfect metaphor for women who seek connection to something bigger than themselves. Nature will be our backdrop to engage in different forms of expressive therapies, such as mindfulness skills, soul-based parts work, art, and psychodrama. Woven with talk therapy, we will endeavor to get to the root of your challenges and discover what your soul requires to find clarity, purpose, and freedom.

Depending on your needs and preferences, we can also incorporate evidence-based modalities—such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and attachment theory—into counseling sessions to ensure that emotional wounds can heal, making room for new insight and goals.

Utilizing nature and other creative forms of expression for ongoing support, women’s therapy can help you connect to your intuition. It is absolutely possible to reevaluate your beliefs and discover your deepest sense of self. Through intuitive exploration, you can set a path to achieve what you truly desire.

You May Still Have Questions About Therapy For Women…

I don’t have time for women’s therapy.

Given how much you already have on your plate, making time for women’s counseling may seem like yet another item on your to-do list. However, when you set aside time for yourself in this way, an internal shift begins. By shedding old beliefs and identifying your passion and purpose, your quality of life can improve exponentially, making it time well spent.

I doubt working with a women’s therapist will help me.

If you’re new to therapy, it can be hard to imagine how talking to someone who doesn’t know your story will be helpful. However, you are the guide and healer of your own journey. Part of the healing process women’s therapy provides is through telling your story and building a relationship with me as your counselor. In this way, I get to experience where you are coming from, which in turn allows you to understand yourself more deeply.

Is online therapy for women as effective as in-person counseling?

When virtual therapy became common during the pandemic, I was initially skeptical. However, after conducting many sessions online, I now recognize its many benefits. Booking an online appointment you can attend from anywhere makes women’s counseling more accessible and convenient.  Although virtual sessions have a different energy to them than in-person, I have seen transformative results with online therapy.
